On the evening of Wednesday 25th March, Sydney Secondary College - Leichhardt campus held a family pizza night.
All buddies were in charge of bringing a component of the pizza - sauce; bases; mozzarella cheese...pineapple! Luckily everyone showed up on the night and whilst buddy pairs worked together in the kitchen to create perfect pizzas, Natalie Bishop, the program manager talked with the families of the buddies about the aims of the program. There was a question and answer session and the parents and guardians enthusiastically took part.
The pizzas soon came out of the oven and into the room and the families of the buddies had the opportunity to meet and chat with each other over a drink and some food. The pizzas were fabulous and there was not so much as a crumb left over! Families then enjoyed some fresh fruit and a cup of tea before heading home.
The evening was a resounding success thanks to the dedication of all the buddies at Leichhardt (pictured here with Alethyia's little sister!), their families and the support of the teachers Ms Robinson, Mr Lipson and Mr Allan.
